First All-Black All-Female Crew on Commercial Jet Flights

all-aa-female-flight-crewtinyHGNlogosampAtlantic Southeast Airlines flights 5202 (Atlanta to Nashville) and 5106 (Nashville to Atlanta) became the first commercial jet revenue flights to be operated by an all-female all-African-American crew, on February 12. Captain Rachelle Jones and First Officer Stephanie Brown Grant piloted the Canadair Regional Jet CRJ-700 with Flight Attendants Robin Rogers and Diana Galloway taking care of the passengers on both flights. Captain Jones completed her upgrade training during April 2008 and became the first African-American female captain at Atlantic Southeast. Atlantic Southeast Airlines, part of the Delta Connection, is owned by SkyWest, Inc.
